SAG-AFTRA unresolved strike threw a looming shadow on the upcoming projects. The latest being the Paramount tentpole Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2.

The spy franchise’s next film has been shifted from June 2024 to May 23, 2025.

Furhter, the previous Tom Cruise's much-anticipated offering, Dead Reckoning, failed to attract expected numbers at the box office. But the film received rave reviews from moviegoers and critics alike.

Meanwhile, the talks between the union and studios are in limbo. A group of A-list actors led by George Clooney has nudged the guild to return to the negotiating table.

Describing his efforts to resolve the matter, the 62, told Deadline, “A lot of the top earners want to be part of the solution.”

The Batman actor added, “We’ve offered to remove the cap on dues, which would bring over $50 million to the union annually. Well over $150 million over the next three years.”

He continued, “We think it’s fair for us to pay more into the union. We also are suggesting a bottom-up residual structure — meaning the top of the call sheet would be the last to collect residuals, not the first.”
