Daniel Radcliffe is starring in and exec producing an upcoming documentary about his Harry Potter stunt double David Holmes, who was paralyzed after an accident on the set.
Radcliffe and Holmes became close friends on the set of Harry Potter, where Holmes was the lead star’s stunt double for over nine years.
Holmes was injured during a pre-planned explosion on the set of Deathly Hallows: Part 1. The explosion sent him hurling to the ground and the injuries to his spine left him paralyzed from the waist down.
David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived is helmed by Sky and HBO Documentary Films. The documentary will feature Holmes’ talents in gymnastics and how he landed the role in Harry Potter, along with his close friendship with Radcliffe.
The HBO documentary will feature interviews with Radcliffe, Holmes’ family, friends, and former crew of Harry Potter. It will also share footage from his life, shedding light on his stunt work and how he has been coping with his paralysis.
Directed by Dan Hartley, David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived will be available on demand from November 18 on Sky Documentaries and streaming service NOW.
