Bahawalpur: Brother allegedly kills sister over love marriage

BAHWALPUR: The mystery surrounding the murder of a young woman was solved on Sunday when her brother admitted to strangling her.

According to police, Nadia married her cousin five months ago and kept the marriage secret. Last month Nadia left her parents home to go live with her Husband. The families got together and decided that Nadia should return to her parent’s home and proper wedding should be held.

However on Sunday morning, she was found dead and when the team from Geo News reached her home, Nadia’s funeral was taking place. Her brothers threatened the Geo News team who then informed the police and the brothers and her brother in law were taken into custody.

Nadia’s body was also shifted to a local hospital for a post mortem.

Meanwhile, during interrogation one of the brothers admitted to murdering his sister by strangling her.
