UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak appointed David Cameron as his foreign secretary and sacked home secretary Sullea Braverman in a stunning cabinet reshuffle.

Cameron, a former prime minister, said he "gladly accepted" the offer from Sunak, despite differences over some “individual decisions" by the person now in his old position, according to Sky News.

Cameron said "believes in public service" and has "useful experience" to bring to the table.

He also called his new boss a "strong and capable prime minister who is showing exemplary leadership at a difficult time".

"I want to help him to deliver the security and prosperity our country needs and be part of the strongest possible team that serves the United Kingdom and that can be presented to the country when the general election is held."
