Nick Kyrgios, Australian tennis professional, is making headlines by venturing into a different arena—joining the OnlyFans platform to connect with his fans.
The 28-year-old, who was the Wimbledon runner-up in 2022, announced his plan to engage with the public on OnlyFans through a news release confirmed by Evolve, the talent management agency led by Naomi Osaka.
In the announcement, Kyrgios expressed his motivation, stating, "They are revolutionising social media, and I wanted to be a part of that. Athletes can no longer just show up on the court or the field. We have to show up online too. I want to create, produce, direct, and own content. That’s the future."
While OnlyFans is typically associated with subscription-based content, often including explicit material, Kyrgios clarified that he won't be posting sexually explicit content on his page. OnlyFans CEO Keily Blair welcomed Kyrgios to the platform, acknowledging his disruptive approach both on and off the tennis court.
Known for his outspokenness and on-court antics, Kyrgios has often grabbed attention for both his mental health discussions and his unique playing style.
Despite a season marred by injuries, Kyrgios remains a prominent figure in tennis, having achieved a career-high ranking of No. 13 and winning seven singles titles, including the 2022 Australian Open men's doubles championship alongside Thanasi Kokkinakis.
Kyrgios's notable performances extend beyond his skills on the court, with his Wimbledon run last year making headlines not only for his tennis prowess but also for controversial incidents, including fines for spitting and verbal altercations with fellow players. Despite the ups and downs, Kyrgios has proven himself as a formidable player capable of challenging the best in the game.
As he ventures into the digital realm with OnlyFans, Kyrgios aims to contribute to the evolving landscape of athlete presence online, embracing new ways to connect with fans beyond the traditional boundaries of sports.
