The West Indies cricket team secured a gripping victory over England in the T20 series, sealing a 3-2 win that culminated in a heart-stopping finish.

Shai Hope emerged as the standout player, who steered his team to triumph with an unbeaten 43 that propelled the Caribbean side to a nerve-wracking four-wicket win.

The highly anticipated decider unfolded in a stark contrast to previous high-scoring encounters, with England struggling to find their footing and being bowled out for a modest 132.

The West Indies, capitaliing on favourable bowling conditions at the Brian Lara Academy, showcased exceptional skills in restricting England's batting lineup. Left-arm spinners Gudakesh Motie and Akeal Hosein were instrumental, with Motie scalping three crucial wickets for a mere 24 runs, and Hosein chipping in with two dismissals for 20 runs.

England's innings saw the downfall of key players like Jos Buttler, Jacks, and the formidable Phil Salt, who had displayed exceptional form in earlier matches. Despite commendable efforts from Liam Livingston and Moeen Ali, England faltered, ultimately being bowled out with only three balls left of their allotted 20 overs.

Responding to the challenge, the West Indies faced early setbacks with the swift dismissals of Brandon King and Nichola Pooran. However, Hope, in a display of sheer determination and skill, anchored the innings alongside Sherfane Rutherford, stabilizing the team's chase. Although England applied late pressure with crucial dismissals by Rashid and Topley, Hope's unwavering resolve guided the home team to a sensational victory, delighting the passionate Caribbean crowd.

The win marks West Indies' third consecutive T20 series triumph in 2023, setting an optimistic tone as they gear up to host the World Cup for the shortest format in June. Conversely, it concludes a disappointing tour for England, who also suffered defeat in the 50-over series in the Caribbean, acknowledging the West Indies' dominance in the T20 format.
