Amanda B: Staffer outraged after getting 'taxed' baked potato as Christmas bonus

Amanda B, a staffer at a potato bar, has shared her disbelief on X (formerly Twitter) after her company presented her with a potato as a Christmas bonus, with the revelation that she will be taxed on the $15-assigned value of the spud. 

In a now-viral post, Amanda B expressed her astonishment, stating, "My work is doing a potato bar as our Christmas bonus. I'm getting a hospital potato as a bonus."

In a humorous yet frustrated thread, Amanda deliberated whether to quit her job, jokingly asking if anyone needed an assistant. 

She compared the potato bar to the previous year's Christmas gift – a 30-minute video conference call with the company's executives, labelling it her "Charlie Brown villain origin story."

She explained the company's decision-making process: "A potato bar is baked potatoes with toppings. 

Also, this was what they decided after deciding frito pies were too expensive because the turkey chili would cost too much."

A snapshot of her "$15 taxed potato" was also shared, sparking various reactions on social media.
