Experts have just taken a trip down memoir lane to recount the time when it appeared Kate Middleton would never get the chance to marry Prince William, all over the word ‘loo’,

It was all brought to light in a piece by Daniela Elser and her claims have been shared in a piece for News.com.au.

She began it all by saying, “What ever happened to loo-gate?”

Because “these days, to look at William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, their broad, toothy white smiles and energetic good works held up as the apogee of royal perfection,” it makes it seem “impossible to imagine that it all nearly didn’t come to pass, in part because of a ‘loo’.”

For those unversed, this is in reference to Carol Middleton’s use of the word ‘loo’ (toilet) when referring to the facilities, near a group of Prince William’s acquaintances, back in the day.

Ms Elser even referenced the moment in her piece and ssaid, “Often forgotten is the fact that in 2007 the prince dumped his university paramour, with the consensus at the time being that the painfully bourgeois background of Kate, and her mother’s use of the word ‘toilet’, were to blame.”
