Election Commission to meet today

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan will meet today (Tuesday) to discuss variety of issue with regard to upcoming general election to be held next year, Geo News reported.

According to reports, the ECP will consider proposals on compulsory ballot casting, whether or not allocating ‘cat’ as election symbol to any political party or candidate and fate of dual nationality holders.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had requested the ECP not to allocate ‘cat’ as an election symbol to any political party or candidate due to its resemblance to its own election symbol ‘tiger’.
