Number of registered voters increased by 22.62 million voters in 2024 as compared to 2018

About 128.58 million people will exercise their right to vote in the 2024 general elections, which are scheduled to take place on February 8, as compared to the previous polls. 

In this year's elections, the number of voters has increased by 22.62 million in Pakistan compared to the 2018 general elections. 

While taking a look at the breakdown, the number of female voters is 58.5 million and they account for 46% of the total votes. In contrast, the number of male voters is 68.5 million which makes 54% of the total votes. 

The age-wise analysis shows that people aged between 18-35 have 57.1 million registered votes this year which makes 45% of the total number of voters.

On the other hand, the elderly voters — aged 56 and above — are approximately 24 million or 18.9% of the total voters. 

Taking a look at the province-wise voters, Punjab tops the list with the most number of votes. The largest province of the country has 72.3 million or 56.9% of the total votes.

After Punjab, Sindh comes in second number with 26.6 million, making the total number of votes 21%. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa comes third with 21.7 million votes and in the last comes Balochistan with 5.3 million voters.
