Wardens punished for negligence

LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer Capt (retd) Suhail Ch has issued orders of punishment to seven Wardens besides transferring four officials on the charges of negligence.

As many as 28 wardens also were served show cause notices for remaining absent from duty point.

The CTO took the decision after his surprise visit to various traffic sectors including Shadman, Mozang, Wahdat Road, Mall 2, Ravi Road, Railway Station and Lorry Adda to inspect the performance of wardens.

Inspector Nisar Anjum was transferred due to his absence from Lorry Adda sector while six wardens were asked to attend drill at Police lines for seven days as a punishment.

Similarly, three officials from Ravi road were transferred from Ravi sector besides referring the case of Traffic Control Operator for action to the SP Telecommunication.

The CTO asked the wardens to ensure their presence on duty.
