ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan Saturday said nobody listened to President Arif Alvi on alleged human rights violations of his party members, The News reported.
Imran, talking to journalists in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, expressed remorse over “the worst crackdown on his party activists”. He said people’s fundamental human right to live freely was being badly affected. The fundamental rights were being flouted in Pakistan, he maintained. “Our human rights petition is pending in the Supreme Court and they are not hearing it.”
When a reporter asked the former prime minister “why don’t you talk to President about human rights petition”, Imran said, “nobody listens to Arif Alvi”.
He said: “My lawyers are contesting elections. That’s why they could not appear in court today. We will fight the case completely. The legal team will resume appearing in court from Monday.”
However, the PTI founder alleged: “The judge, jury and prosecution are all one. I will be punished.”
He said Najam Sethi had said the other day that he [judge] would deliver the verdict on the cipher case by February 5. “From where Najam Sethi got the information,” he said and added that “everyone knows where Najam Sethi got the information.”
He said Nawaz Sharif was getting relief. Everyone was lying about the level playing field. Nawaz Sharif’s only hope is that he will win elections through ‘Vigo Dala’, but people will not give win to him, Imran claimed.
Without uttering any name, the PTI founder said, “It is amazing that ‘he’ made two parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by updating the software.”
He said cases were being opened and closed against Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif and no one asked them questions. “My cases are being tried every day,” he complained.
