Hyderabad: Niaz stadium becomes stage for SSB ceremony

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad’s Niaz Cricket Stadium which once saw legendary Pakistani players breaking world records has now become a center of Sindh Sports Board activities with laborers hammering nails into the filed and digging ground as part of preparations for Sindh Games opening ceremony, Geo News reported on Sunday.


Youngsters were also seen riding bikes in the ground. According to reports the Sindh Sports Board didn’t even bother to take permission from the Pakistan Cricket Board to use the stadium.

However, Sports Secretary Saeed Awan said the PCB gave them permission for holding inauguration ceremony.

He said that no tent was being placed in the filed, adding that only a stage was set up for the ceremony to be attended by governor.
