India's star cricketer Virat Kohli is known for his on-the-pitch aggression and it seems that former South African cricketer Dean Elgar too ended up in the former's crosshairs.

The revelation comes as Kohli has been involved in various heated exchanges with the opposite sides' players in various tournaments throughout the years.

Responding to a question, while appearing on a podcast, whether he had any fights with Kohli or Ravichandran Ashwin, Elgar said that he was involved in a heated argument with the star batter during South Africa’s Test match against India in the latter’s home ground.

"I came in to bat, and I was holding my own against Ashwin and Jadeja," Elgar said. "Kohli spat at me, and I said to him, 'If you do that again I'll f*****g p**s [a South African profanity meaning hit] you with this bat. I will absolutely knock you out on this field,” the Proteas cricketer said.

Elgar further said that AB de Villiers, Kohli’s former teammate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), had also approached the Indian cricketer on his aggressive gesture, reported cricbuzz.com.

However, the two cricketers buried the grudge after Kohli, a few years down the line, invited Elgar for drinks to apologise for his earlier act, Elgar said.
