He is the second Pakistani to claim the title.after Mohammad Yousuf who won the championship in 1994 while Saleh Mohamamd lost to Pankaj Advani of India in the final of the World Snooker Championship.
Asif bowed to thank Almighty God as soon he won the final 10-8 against experienced Wilson.
He was unbeatable throughout the tournament winning all his matches.
