Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman lost to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan's (MQM-P) Farhan Chishti in Pakistan's general elections on February 8 in the polls of NA-250 Karachi Central-IV.

Chishti bagged 79,925 votes, while Rehman secured 43,659 votes, as per unofficial results.

JI's Rehman, MQM-P's Farhan Chishti, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed (PTI) Muhammad Riaz Haider, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Sohail Mansoor Khawaja, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s (TLP) Asad Jawad Khan Sherwani,  Grand Democratic Alliance's (GDA) Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed, Awami National Party's (ANP) Muhammad Khan Afridi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Furqan Ali and others are contesting from the said seat.

The NA-250 Karachi Central-IV constituency — formerly NA-256 Karachi Central-IV — comprises the North Nazimabad Sub-Division along with Charge No 2 of the said area.

Overview

During the 2018 elections, PTI's Muhammad Najeeb Haroon won the seat with 89,850 votes with MQM-P's Amir Wali Uddin Chishti securing second place with 45,575 votes.

The constituency's population stands at 957,879 with 553,540 registered voters — of which 291,116 are male and 262,424 female voters.
