As the ballots have been counted and the results trickle in, we are witnessing both stunning defeats and resounding victories, with the full picture still emerging after almost a day.

The embattled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which faced several setbacks in the lead up to the elections, put up an impressive show as it has bagged major seats as per the preliminary results.

The party has managed to secure more than 100 seats and leaders claim that it will form the next government.
