As delayed poll results triggered speculations after the deadline set by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ended, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has congratulated party workers and supporters, saying the "massive turnout surprised everyone".
In his AI-generated speech posted on X — formerly called Twitter — late Friday night, the former prime minister told his supporters: "You have laid the foundation of real freedom by casting your votes yesterday [Thursday] and I congratulate you on the victory in the general elections 2024."
The disqualified premier, who was removed from power via a no-confidence parliamentary vote in 2022, also said: "I completely trusted you that you all will come out to cast votes and you have honoured my trust. Your massive turnout has surprised everyone."
While reiterating his stance, Khan said: "The 'London plan' has failed because of your vote."
The AI-generated voice also criticised Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, saying that despite the unannounced result status of 30 National Assembly seats, he delivered a victory speech.
The 71-year-old's AI voice also claimed: "No Pakistani will accept that and international media is also writing about that folly. Our independent sources told us that we were victorious on 150 National Assembly seats before the start of the rigging process."
He added: "Currently, as per the data from Form-45, we are triumphant on over 170 National Assembly seats."
He also said despite oppression and injustices for the last two years, the PTI won the elections by a two-thirds majority.
"My fellow Pakistanis, you have made history," Khan said, adding "I am proud of you and I thank Allah that He had turned us into a nation. Now, no one can stop us from flying high."
In the conclusion of his AI speech, he said: "In the end, you do not have to fear. Celebrate and offer thanksgiving prayer. Everyone has witnessed the power of your vote, now I urge you to show the ability to secure your vote."
Earlier today, Nawaz Sharif — the premiership candidate of the PML-N in his victory speech — said that he wanted to form a united government after his party "emerged victorious" in the February 8 general election.
"I have tasked Shehbaz Sharif to meet Fazlur Rehman, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Asif Ali Zardari today," the former three-time premier told a charged crowd in Lahore’s Model Town, which was there to listen to his "victory speech".
"Alhamdulillah, the PML-N is the largest single party in the country today after the elections," he added.
The PML-N chief, who ended his self-imposed exile in October last year, urged all the national institutions and politicians to play a positive role in steering the country out of the ongoing crises.
Referring to the country’s fragile economy, Nawaz said: "At least 10 years are needed for bringing stability to the country."
He said that it was the responsibility of the PML-N to steer the country out of the crises.
The PML-N supremo also said that they respect the mandate of all the political parties and independent candidates, and invited them to sit with the former ruling party for the sake of the country
“Our sole agenda is a prosperous Pakistan,” he added.
