Edwin Castro has hired a Hollywood public relations (PR) guru to manage his affairs after winning over $2 billion in the biggest Powerball jackpot in history, The US Sun reported.
Castro — whose life significantly changed in November 2022, is currently residing in a $25 million Hollywood Hills mansion loacted near that of American pop singer Ariana Grande — bought a $4 million Altadena home for his parents, and has been seen driving vintage sports cars.
According to an insider, he has been donating to multiple charities and causes "close to his heart," since he won the money.
He even took a group of friends on a trip of a lifetime to Fiji to celebrate his win and was spotted dining with a mystery woman this week at a high-end sushi restaurant in West Hollywood.
However, upon his counsel’s advice, Castro is now focusing on "building a sophisticated team of experts" to manage his affairs after his story attracted a lot of interest.
He has hired Terry Fahn as his new media representative, according to The US Sun, and is now working with him on public relations and communications.
Fahn who previously worked for Sitrick And Company, was as a litigation attorney and has worked with dozens of high-profile clients, including baseball star Alex Rodriguez and major National Basketball Association names.
He has also served as a senior vice president at Dick Clark Productions where he oversaw corporate communications and public relations for the American Music Awards and Golden Globes.
Fahn, a lawyer and advisor, has worked on "complex crisis, litigation and business matters representing and advising clients” in various sectors including public and private businesses, non-profit organisations, corporate executives, governmental entities, lawyers, law firms, and high-profile celebrities.
He has also worked with several national retailers, apparel companies, municipalities, and government officials.
Castro has been sued by a Los Angeles gardener, Jose Rivera, who claims he bought the winning ticket but was stolen and later cashed it in.
Rivera has been charged with filing a false police complaint for allegedly wasting time and resources, and both the criminal and civil suits are still going through the courts.
