LAHORE: Former Photo Editor, Associated Press of Pakistan, Lahore Bureau Rafiq Ahmad alias "Chacha Rafiq" was crushed to death here in the area of Chan Miran last night.
According to family sources, the elderly photojournalist lost balance while riding his old "scooter" as he was negotiating a turn on way back home. He was crushed to death instantly by a speeding tractor trolley.
His funeral, held here on Monday morning at his residence, was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life, including VP SAARC CCI Iftikhar Ali Malik,former LCCI Chief,Shahzad Ali Malik,Executive members of LCCI Waqar Ahmad Mian,Mian Zahid Jawaid,Regional Director,APP,Central Region,Punjab Dr. Waqar Chaudhary.
Chacha Rafiq,served APP for more than 43 years as Photographer and was adjudged one of the best in the city in good old days and was known to several Governors, Chief Ministers, Ministers and veteran politicians. He has left behind two sons and a widow. (APP)
