ANKARA: President Asif Ali Zardari said Wednesday Pakistan was committed to eliminating the extremist mindset.
Speaking during a news conference after the conclusion of the trilateral summit, the president said both Pakistan and Afghanistan had suffered from this mindset and the attack on the Afghan intelligence chief was an attempt to disrupt joint efforts for the elimination of terrorism.
In response to a question, the president said it was in the interest of Pakistan.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul said the three countries had agreed to promote trade and were committed to the peace process in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile Afghan President Hamid Karzai praised the role of the trilateral summit for improving relations between the countries.
