Leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump fired shots at United States President Joe Biden labelling him the "worst president" in the country's history.

The 77-year-old former US president hosted a watch party event to mark the Super Tuesday primary elections at his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida, The US Sun reported.

Following favourable results, Trump made a victory speech at Mar-a-Lago in which he severely criticised Biden, his Democratic presidential rival.

Trump, who defeated former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley in most states, slammed Biden for destroying what was built during the former president's term and vowed to take the country back.

"We're gonna win this election because we have no choice," Trump said. "If we lose this election we're not going to have a country left.

"We watched our country take a great beating over the last three years," Trump said. "The world is laughing at us, the world is taking advantage of us."

Trump also raised the inflation issue which he referred to as a "country buster".

"Inflation is called a country buster and that's what it's doing to our country," Trump said.

"What has happened with inflation has been unbelievable. The experts say the stock markets are the only thing that are doing well and that's doing well being our poll numbers are so much higher than Joe Biden's.

"He is the worst president in the history of our country there has never been anything like what's happening to our country."
