FAISALABAD: A young man shot himself after critically injuring Pakistan’s international Kabaddi player Saba Sultana by opening fire on her on Tuesday.
The boy, identified as Imran, is a resident of Owais Colony, the same neighbourhood where Saba’s house is situated. Both were shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition earlier toay.
Saba Sultana was part of Pakistan’s team that played an international event in India last year. She was hopeful of representing the country in the future also.
She was filmed riding a motorcycle on the streets of Faisalabad celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14. The joyful-looking Saba was wearing the national blazer to express her love for the country.
According to Saba’s father, Imran carried out the attack over a payment dispute of a laptop computer.
However, sources told Geo News that the youth was interested in marrying Saba and took the decision following a spat that created rifts between the two.
