Donald Trump on Sunday added another thing to his list of things to criticise as he took a jab at this year's Academy Awards, famously known as the Oscars, which is the highest award in Hollywood, The US Sun reported.

The 96th Academy Awards or Oscars were held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on Sunday and as viewers watched their favourite artists win and lose, the former United States president had other plans.

Trump, 77, took to Truth Social to criticise the award ceremony.

Trump started off his rant by slamming Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel who he thinks wasn't the man for the job.

"Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He suggested replacing Kimmel with George Stephanopoulos, the host of ABC's Sunday morning current events news program, This Week, whose name he misspelled as "George Slopanopoulos".

"Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC 'talent,' George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous."

The only 2024 Republican presidential candidate continued to slam the show for being less entertaining and being unfair.

"Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years — Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them," Trump continued.

"Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
