KARACHI: Tension gripped different parts of Karachi and Hyderabad on Friday night and business activities came to a halt in both the cities, Geo News reported.
According to reports, unknown people resorted to aerial firing forcing the shopkeepers and traders to close their businesses. The shops, food centers, parks and petrol pumps those remain open till late night in Karachi and Hyderabad were closed after panic gripped both the cities after intermittent firing.
The affected areas include Orangi Town, Baldia Town,Saeedabad, Maskan Chowrangi, Hasan Squire, old city areas, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauher, Nagan Chowrangi Gulbhar, Sarjani Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Anda Morh, Hussainabad, Liaquatabad, Water Pump,North Karachi, Landhi, Korangi, Saddar and Tariq Road.
Latifabad, Heerabad, Hyder Chowk Cloth Market areas also remained tense after aerial firing in Hyderabad.
Situation remained same in Mirpurkhas and businesses activities were closed after unidentified men fired in the air.
