Portugal captain and renowned football maestro Cristiano Ronaldo left a comment on his former teammate Mesut Ozil's Instagram video where the ex-Real Madrid and Arsenal star is seen working out in a gym.

Ozil, who retired in March 2023, is surely not wasting his time post-retirement as the former attacking midfielder apparently does not miss any gym sessions.

The 35-year-old, during his playing days, was one of the very few footballers who weren't known for their exceptional physical attributes. The recent video where Ozil is all bulked up with muscles caught his fans off guard.

Just like everyone, his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo too looked as surprised as he went on to leave a comment on the 2014 World Cup winner's post.

It is worth mentioning that Ozil was one of the greatest playmakers during his peak. The German midfielder announced himself to the world with a spectacular World Cup 2010 campaign which earned him a move to Real Madrid.

Ozil played at Madrid for three years where he featured in 159 matches scoring 27 goals and providing 81 assists. He built one of the best partnerships with Ronaldo during that time and was the key to Jose Mourinho’s team that created history and won La Liga with 100 points in 2012.

In 2013, after Madrid completed the signing of Gareth Bale, Ozil moved to Arsenal, where he stayed till 2021 and played 254 matches with the Gunners, scoring 44 goals and providing 79 matches. His time with the London club remains memorable where he also clinched six trophies, 4x FA Cups, and 2x Community Shields.

In 2021, he left for Turkish club Fenerbache and then announced his retirement from professional in March 2023 at the age of 34.
