Ryan Gosling's 'non-verbal agreement' made Eva Mendes quit Hollywood?

Eva Mendes spilled some details about her relationship with Ryan Gosling.

The couple, who allegedly tied the knot in 2022, share two children Esmeralda Amada (aged 9) and Amada Lee (aged seven).

In her recent appearance on Today, the 50-year-old actress talked about the “non-verbal agreement” she made with the Canadian actor about raising their children.

When asked what it was like to quit acting to become a full-time mother, Eva said, “It was like a no-brainer. I'm so lucky, and I was like, if I can have this time with my children... and I still worked, I just didn't act because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away.”

While Ryan has continued to make movies since Esmeralda and Amada's birth, Eva hasn't starred in a film for over a decade now.

“It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, ‘Okay he's going to work and I'm going to work, I'm just going to work here,’” she spoke of her 13-year-old relationship with the Barbie actor.

Eva and Ryan met each other when they acted in the 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines.

Saying she "pretty much stopped acting after that,” Eva added, “I have never experienced anything like that. The way he works, his commitment to his craft, how he wants to make everything as best as it can be, and that means making his co-stars as best as they can be. But unfortunately - or fortunately - there is only one Ryan!”
