Tom Cruise’s busy schedule seems to be making it very incredibly difficult to find free time for the filming of Top Gun’s third installment.
The Top Gun’s producer, Jerry Bruckheimer even told ScreenRant that he has no clue when Tom’s schedule allows them to start filming.
“It will be Tom Cruise [leading the cast],” Jerry when he first started off by saying.
Praising the Mission Impossible actor, Jerry admitted, “Tom is amazing. We spent time with him. We have a story. Joe Kosinski had a wonderful story idea for it, and [Tom] said, ‘I really like that,’ so we’re developing it.”
According to Jerry, right now Tom is busy in filming Mission Impossible 8 which is a sequel to last year’s Dead Reckoning, “He’s doing ‘Mission: Impossible’ right now, he’s got a picture after it. Hopefully, we’ll get a screenplay that he loves, and we’ll be back in the air again.”
Variety confirmed in January that the action-drama's screenplay is under process by Ehren Kruger who was also the co-writer for Top Gun: Maverick.
Before concluding Jerry also added, “Hopefully, we’ll get a screenplay that he loves, and we’ll be back in the air again.”
The outlet also reported that the Paramount studio, which is behind Top Gun's filming, wanted Joseph Kosinski to helm the upcoming Top Gun's sequel.
For those unversed, Top Gun: Maverick, which was also nominated for Oscars, grossed $1.5 billion, making it the most popular film of Cruise’s career.
