Many comedians do political jokes, but not Kevin Hart. He says his style of comedy avoids confrontation and aims to solely base his piece of art on humour because he has to cater to a global audience.
On the question of steering clear of taking part in comical political jabs, the Jumanji star told Daily Mail, "The idea of politics is not one that I associate with humor. I mean, honestly, I don't really partake in it."
He continued, "I'm a product of bringing people together. You know, my comedy is one that's global – and when you're global, you're in an environment where laughter is the priority."
However, Kevin stressed he does not oppose the humour that focuses on politics.
"It doesn't mean I'm against political humor, it's just more that I understand my lane and I operate in what I do very well," he emphasized.
Kevin's remarks come on the heels of the 25th Mark Twain Prize for American Humour.
In the ceremony, a score of jokes targeted politicians by other comedians at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
