Final Destination is ready to hit the screens again after a 13-year hiatus as the creators announced a talented cast for its sixth instalment.
As confirmed by Deadline, a fresh instalment of Final Destination is coming, bringing its chilling thrills after a long time and the creators have unveiled a talented ensemble cast for this sixth chapter.
It includes, Richard Harmon, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Owen Patrick Joyner, Santa Juana, Rya Kihlstedt, Tinpo Lee and Max Lloyd-Jones.
While the details of the plot are still kept under wraps, the franchise creator, Jeffrey Reddick, spoke with Collider in 2023 revealing that the upcoming movie will change the narrative a bit.
He shared, “I will say that it's not just going to be another kind of 'we set up a group of people, they cheat death, and then just death gets them. This one is... a true Final Destination movie, but it doesn't follow that kind of formula that we've kind of established... I think I can say that much."
Helmed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, with a screenplay crafted by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick of Scream famed, this movie boasts the involvement of franchise veterans in its production.
The filming currently takes place in Vancouver, with a release scheduled for the forthcoming year.
For those unfamiliar with the premise, the first instalment of Final Destination released in 2000, revolves around a group of friends who narrowly escape death, only to find themselves pursued by an unseen force determined to claim their lives in a predetermined sequence.
It's pertinent to note that Final Destination 5, the most recent addition to this thrilling series, made its debut in 2011 and emerged as the highest-grossing film within the franchise.
