Sydney Sweeney, Johnny Depp join forces for thriller venture

Sydney Sweeney and Johnny Depp are reported to have joined hands for an exciting new project with a supernatural backdrop.

The Euphoria actress is riding high on the tides of success as she landed the highly anticipated horror flick Immaculate soon after the chart-breaking success of the romcom Anyone But You.

Now the 26-year-old actress will be joining hands with the 60-year-old legend, according to a newsletter of entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider.

Given Sweeney’s inclination toward horror and thriller flicks which she admitted during an appearance on The View, another supernatural turn is on the cards. 

As for the details of the film, while the plot is still under wraps, the movie is reportedly titled Day Drinker. 

Directed by The Amazing Spiderman and 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb, the movie will explore the genre of love, friendship, and revenge while focusing on the relationship between an enigmatic stranger (Depp) and a bartender (Sweeney) dealing with the grief of losing her partner.

It is worth mentioning here that for the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star, this film marks his biggest project since winning his defamation trial in 2021, against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Earlier he was dropped from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise by Disney where he portrayed the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow.

According to his agent, he was also asked to resign from the Fantastic Beast franchise where he played the notorious role of Grindelwald.
