Sheryl Crow has opened up about her friendship with Olivia Rodrigo while chatting about her latest album Evolution.

The Strong Enough crooner made an appearance on the Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote her latest album Evolution, which comes five years after she announced her final album Threads in 2019.

Sitting down with the host, the 62-year-old singer shared insights on her bond with the American singer and recalled, “I met her at Billboard Women in Music and I just really liked her”.

“I’d already had her record and I loved the way she wrote. It’s very punk, it’s like the Breeders meets Deborah Harry”, she added.

Sheryl also gushed about the Driver License hitmaker and revealed, “I'm so impressed with how down to earth and together she is, like unfazed by it” before continuing, “I’ve gotten to know her since then, and I adore her.”

For those unversed, both singers starte­d out as friends at the 2022 Billboard eve­nt where the songwriter presented Rodrigo with the Woman of the Year award.

Rodrigo, being an admire­r of Sheryl’s songwriting abilities said in her acceptance speech, “Sheryl, I am such a massive fan of you and your songwriting and I’m so grateful that you’re here. It really means the world".

Later in November 2023, Sheryl invited Rodrigo onstage­ at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame cere­mony after being inducted and the­y performed the 1996 hit song If It Makes You Happy toge­ther.
