Former US president and Republican forerunner Donald Trump criticised Joe Biden over a demand made by the Mexican leader asking Washington to provide $20 billion in annual aid to its southern neighbours.
Joe Biden has been under fire for his immigration policies with millions coming into the US illegally. Donald Trump reiterated unsubstantially the high crime rates in the US referring to the migrant influx.
While speaking in an interview with One Nation with Brian Kilmeade aired Saturday, the former US president said that the leaders of other countries do not respect President Biden.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador demanded in an interview that the United States should provide $20 billion a year in aid to its neighboring countries to the south.
"He said he wants $10 billion essentially just to talk. $10 billion to talk. No, that wouldn’t happen with me with the wall," the 77-year-old Trump said who is facing four criminal indictments and 91 felony charges.
He was asked what had changed in the 81-year-old Biden’s administration, Trump responded: "It’s very simple: Lack of respect for the president. They would never say that to me. I would not give them ten cents."
Mexcian President also urged the US to cease the blockade against Cuba and lift sanctions against Venezuela.
According to the Washington Examiner, 242,587 immigrants tried to make their way into the US.
Separately, over 10 million immigrants have reportedly entered the country illegally since Democrat Biden entered the Oval Office.
