As Christians all around the world celebrated the holy day, staunch political rivals — US President Joe Biden and Republican forerunner Donald Trump — issued completely different messages on Easter with the former president striking on his opponents.
Joe Biden said in his solemn Easter message: "Jill and I send our warmest wishes to Christians around the world celebrating Easter Sunday. Easter reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection."
The 81-year-old Democrat said: "We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities. And with wars and conflict taking a toll on innocent lives around the world, we renew our commitment to work for peace, security, and dignity for all people."
As Biden’s message marked the sincerity and reverence of the holy day, Donald Trump’s wishes were completely in contrast with the President on Truth Social.
The four-time indicted Trump criticised the prosecutors investigating criminal cases against him calling the federal special counsel Jack Smith "deranged," and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg "lazy".
The business mogul also uploaded a post on his Instagram account that read: "Happy Easter."
The 77-year-old also castigated the Department of Justice and called Biden "crooked Joe."
The actor-turned-politician was granted partial legal relief last week by the appeals court after reducing the bond amount from $464 million to $175 million.
After failing to secure the bond earlier this month, the former president was being regarded as broke and out of cash amid a considerable monetary gap between the Republicans and the Democrats.
