Rachel Leviss opened up about her experience at the Reality TV show Vanderpump Rules and her new podcast at iHeartRadio.
The American TV personality made an appearance at the 2024 iHeartRadio Award where she had a conversation with People magazine and drew parallels between her experience at the reality TV show and the latest Rachel Goes Rogue podcast.
“Oh, I have so much more control when it’s my own podcast”, she told the outlet.
“When you’re on a reality TV show, you’re just living your life and you don’t know what they’re going to air, or how they’re going to edit you to look a certain way, so with my own podcast, I’m able to speak freely — I know what I’m going to say won’t be edited out, and I just have a voice”, Leviss added.
She also revealed that the podcast is “about [her] mental health journey”.
“[It focuses on] what I’ve learned through this toxic experience of being on a reality TV show, and what I’ve learned through the time that I’ve taken myself in a treatment facility”.
For those unversed, the 29-year-old starred in 5 seasons of the reality TV show, joining in 2016 for season 5 till season 10, but refused to return for Season 11 in January 2024 due to the fallout of the explosive cheating scandal involving her and her co-stars Ariana Madix as well as Tom Sandoval came to light.
It is also worth mentioning here that the Rachel Goes Rogue podcast underscores mental health struggles where the host has also unfolded her journey to better connect with the listeners.
