Ariana Grande has allegedly accepted ‘hush money’ to remain tight-lipped on the growing Nickelodeon controversy.
The renowned singer is now the next target of controversies and allegations in the wake of eerie documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, which focuses on the toxic work culture behind children's shows of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
After her Sam & Cat co-star, Janette McCurdy revealed that she rejected ‘hush money’ before adding, “I’m proud of myself, I’ve chosen a path of integrity”, Grande and Dynasty famed Elizabeth Gillies are now under scrutiny for not speaking up on the swirling speculations with fans speculating if they were offered the same deal.
Taking to Gillies' Instagram post, which she published to laud her long-time friend for her latest album Eternal Sunshine’s release, fans have flocked to the comment section to question their take on the allegation, wondering if they did take the said ‘hush money’.
A fan wrote, “Why are you still following Dan [Schneider]?”, while another accused, “Definitely signed NDAs”, suggesting that the Victorious co-stars have signed an agreement to remain silent on the topic.
A third user also chimed in and inquired, “How much hush money did Dan [Schneider] give you to keep quiet?”, while another questioned, “So both of y’all took the hush money”.
Given their continued silence, criticism has mounted on social media leading to fans emphasizing the importance of transparency in such matters and awaiting their response in the ongoing developments.
