Governor Latif Khosa presents resignation to Preisdent Zardari

KARACHI : Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khosa arrived in Karachi today after being summoned by President Asif Ali Zardari. Flanked by former Prime Minsiter Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Governor met the President at the Bilawal House where he presented his resignation.

As yet it has not been confirmed whether his resignation has been accepted, but party members did confirm that the change is inevitable.

Earlier the PPP had nominated Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood a PML-F MPA from Rahim Yar Khan for the post of Governor Punjab.

Makhdoom has been a strong advocate for the restoration of Bahawalpur's status as a province, while his father had served as the Chief Minister of Bahawalpur.
