The Good Doctor’s latest episode added a ‘heart stopping’ twist to a character’s fate, leaving fans shocked.
The medical drama which began in 2017 had already announced that the 7th season would wrap up the storyline.
However, while the creators of the show labeled Episode 5 as a “must see” with a “heart stopping” moments, fans were not expecting it.
The episode titled, Who At Peace, left fans stunned as it feature a gut-wrenching twist of a series' regular, Dr. Asher Wolke’s death.
In the episode, Dr. Asher, portrayed by Noah Galvin, was on his way to a restaurant to propose to his partner nurse Jerome Martel (Giacomo Baessato) where he fell victim to an antisemitic attack.
The moment struck fans, after the character's sudden demise and led many to flock online to share their grief through posts and gifs depicting sorrow.
Turing to X (formerly Twitter) a user expressed her grief and wrote, “THE GOOD DOCTOR JUST KILLED OFF MY FAVORITE CHARACTER.....THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY’VE DONE THIS I’M SICK”, referring to Dr. Neil Melendez death who was struck by an earthquake.
Other users chimed in to voice their disbelief and shared, “Omg. The Good Doctor. I WAS NOT READY”, and “Never saw that coming”.
However, while the episode left a deep impact on the audience’s mind, its closing moments conveyed a profound message resonating deeply with viewers about discrimination and hatred.
