QUETTA: A shutter down was observed in the provincial capital and surrounding areas on Sunday to condemn suicide attack on a public meeting of Awami National Party that the party central leader Bashir Ahmed Bilore and several workers killed on Saturday evening.
The strike was observed on call of ANP Balochistan during which main markets and shopping malls remained closed.
Traffic also was witnessed thin on roads in the city compared to routine. Strike was supported by various political and nationalist parties.
The provincial government had made strict security arrangements to shun any untoward situation. Law enforcement agencies officials kept the city patrolling on vehicles and motorcycles throughout the day besides strict checking of passersby and vehicles on important roads.
No untoward incident was reported from any corner of the city till filling of this report.
