Kurt Cobain is a name known to all in the genre of grunge and rock with his role as the vocalist and founder of the legendary band, Nirvana.
April 5, 2024, marks 30 years since the music industry and the world lost an exceptional talent to this field or art.
Flashback to April 5, 1994, in the guest house behind his Seattle home, Cobain took his life with a shotgun, killing himself instantly.
“Frances and Courtney, I'll be at your alter. Please keep going Courtney, for Frances,” Kurt Cobain wrote in his suicide letter, addressed to his wife, Courtney Love and daughter, Frances Bean.
Starting in 1988, Cobain pursued his musical ambitions. After his band agreed on the name, “Nirvana” they released their first track, Love Buzz, via a small label.
After the band’s launch in 1988, the rock star made a huge leap in his and the band members’ career by signing with Geffen Records in 1991.
Nirvana, then, proceeded to released their highly successful album Nevermind, and their widely popular album, In Utero, in 1993.
Shortly after signing to Geffen Records, Nirvana's single, Smells Like Teen Spirit, became their biggest hit, which made their album score the number one spot on the music charts.
As Cobain began rose to the heights of fame, he managed his addiction to heroin, at the same time leading to the deterioration of his health, physically and mentally.
Kurt Cobain, amid his struggles handled the entirety of his career with utmost professionalism, with an impeccable display of talent, with his band, Nirvana, playing their last show in Germany, on March 1, 1994.
