Game of Thrones star Joseph Gatt has taken his "false" sexual offense charges to court as he believes the 2022 case “ruined his career.”

On Thursday, the 52-year-old actor filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles, seeking $40 million in damages over a “botched criminal investigation” that caused “intentional destruction” to his career and personal life after being “publicly branded as a pedophile.”

The filing comes two years after the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Joseph, who played Thenn Warg in GOT, following a tip that accused him of “online sexually explicit communication with a minor across state lines."

LAPD released the actor on the same day of his arrest after a $5,000 bail.

At the time, Joseph denied the charges and took to his Instagram, claiming that the accusations “are 100% categorically wrong and reckless.”

Now, the Dumbo star states in his complaint that had to sell his Ford Shelby GT 500 car to pay for his lawyer as he hasn't been able to work since the case first started.

According to PEOPLE, Joseph thinks his career is "in shambles based on nothing more than facially untrustworthy pictures of a phone screen and the unverified word of an obsessed fan."

Furthermore, he claimed that he has “suffered immeasurable mental anguish and emotional distress that made him physically ill” because of the "false accusations."
