People have been waiting for the extraordinary celestial event of the total solar eclipse that is to take place on April 8, as tourists and skygazers are looking for the best places to catch a remarkable glance of the Moon blocking the sunlight completely to cast a dark shadow on the Earth.
The total solar eclipse will start from the Pacific Coast area of Mexico, then Texas, and will plunge millions of people in North America into the dark.
Here are some details about the timing of the total solar eclipse.
The date of total solar eclipse is April 8. On this day, the sunlight will not reach the earth for a brief time.
According to USA Today, the eclipse will begin in Texas at 1:27pm CDT and end in Maine at 3:35pm EDT.
According to experts, the event cumulatively takes over two hours however, the totality in different parts would occur for only 4 minutes or more.
Mexico's Pacific Coast, will witness an eclipse at around 11:07am PDT on April 8, said Nasa.
The total solar eclipse will make its way out of North America at around 5:16pm NDT from Newfoundland, Canada.
Some areas of Tennessee and Michigan will also see the total solar eclipse.
Those living outside the path of a total solar eclipse may see a partial eclipse, where most partially cover the sun, as per Nasa.
People in Torreón, Mexico will experience the longest totality lasting for 4 minutes, and 28 seconds, CBS News reported.
Kerrville, Texas, will have a duration of 4 minutes, and 24 seconds.
