Toby Keith receives honorary star-studded tribute at 2024 CMT Awards

Toby Keith, the legendary country musician received numerous tributes at the 2024 CMT Awards by Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson and more.

According to PEOPLE magazine, at Sunday’s award ceremony, held at Moody Center situated in Austin, Texas, several musician joined forces to honour Keith’s memory.

Each of the artists performed with contagious energy, reflecting on the joy of Keith's melodies and legacy. They marked the conclusion of the tribute by sipping red Solo cups as a nod to one of his all-time hit songs.

The duo, Brooks & Dunn, featuring Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, kicked off their performance with an enthusiastic rendition of Should've Been a Cowboy.

And after a series of performances, by Lainey Wilson, Sammy Hager and others, Keith’s long-time friend, Roger Clemens, took the stage for a final memorial.

He expressed his gratitude to Keith’s family, wife, Tricia Lucus and children Shelley, Krystal and Stelen, who were in attendance.

"Thank you for sharing your dad with all of us. Thank you, Trish, we love you. Thank you for sharing your husband with the world, Trish. Thank you," Clemens stated bringing the family to tears.
