Robert Downey Jr. recently expressed his reaction towards Jimmy Kimmel's joke at the 2024 Oscars.
According to PEOPLE report, during an interview for Esquire's spring 2024 issue, the Iron Man star shared his thoughts on the incident.
Kimmel poked fun at Downey Jr.'s past challenges with addiction, by calling the Oscars night as "one of the highest points" of the actor's career.
Despite the sensitive nature of the joke, Downey Jr. displayed his characteristic humor as he was seen laughing when the cameras focused on him.
Later, during the interview, Downey Jr. said, "I don’t care. I love Jimmy Kimmel... I think he’s a national treasure."
The Oscars night was particularly memorable for Downey Jr., as he secured his first Oscar for his role in Oppenheimer, playing Lewis Strauss opposite Cillian Murphy.
On the work front, following his Oscar-winning role in Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. will star in HBO miniseries The Sympathizer and a third installment of Sherlock Holmes.
