O.J. Simpson has reportedly influenced many Black lives.

As fans will know, the former NFL player met his demise after years-long battle against cancer as per the announcement of his family on 11th April 2024.

For those unversed, the late sportsman was also accused of a double murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Later, Simpson's indictment became one of the most high-profile court cases in American history. However, in 1995, he was acquitted of these charges.

Post his death, Simpson’s attorney Dershowitz recently got candid with People about his life and "mixed legacy."

The attorney said about Simpson, “He will always have a mixed legacy.”

He went on to mention, "But, he'll always be remembered as the defendant in the very important trial of 1995.”

“He was very smart. He didn't always listen to his lawyer's advice,” adding that he “told [Simpson] once he got acquitted to assume a low profile,” but “[he] did not.”

The lawyer also said that Simpson has left “a mixed legacy,” and noted that his trial “had a big impact on the American justice system, on media coverage of trials, on corruption.”

“He had a big impact on racial divisions," he explained.

He also stated that Simpson “left a mark” in the American as his trial was the first to be “tried live on television,” and resigned from the chat.
