OJ Simpson owed more than $100 million to the Goldman family, Ron Goldman’s father’s attorney said, after the former American footballer died at the age of 76 on Wednesday.

Simpson was found not guilty in the 1994 stabbing deaths of former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles, although he was found responsible for their death in a civil lawsuit.

The court had ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the victims. However, the Goldman family says that they haven’t seen the money so far. With several years passing, the amount has now exceeded $100 million due to interest and Goldman's lawyers will try to target the deceased’s estate.

“We have to start over here,” attorney David Cook told DailyMail.com. “We’re going to work on that. There might be something out there. We’ve had this problem for a long long time. It could be in a trust, it could be probate. It could be all gone.”

When the amount hit $96 million in June 2022, the ex-footballer had paid a meagre $133,000.

"He died without penance,” Cook, talking to People, said of Simpson. “He did not want to give a dime, a nickel to Fred, never, anything, never.”
