Lady Gaga’s latest partnership with Pfizer for a migration medication Nurtec ODT advertisement reportedly violated the laws of the European Union after she posted it on Instagram.

These posts, Politico reports, ran against the laws of the bloc that barred the marketing of prescription drugs via direct-to-consumer.

Despite this fact, the Joker actress added a disclaimer that reads the posts are “intended for U.S. audiences only.”

However, the outlet says the ad post was not restricted only to the United States leading it to appear in Lady Gaga’s massive global online followers, thereby, it was labelled illegal in E.U. eyes.

The regulations that appear to be applied to the Grammy winner’s posts were recently applied and are called the Digital Services Act (DSA) and Digital Markets Act (DMA).

But these laws will be put into action only after the potentially illegal content is first reported on the social platform it was posted.

“If then content is not removed, the Commission can take action and pursue the case,” the E.U. digital watchdog V.P Margrethe Vestager told the outlet.

“The DSA and the DMA are only as strong as we can collectively make them. And we count on the community to help us enforce.”
