Katy Perry nearly escaped an oops moment from happening when her wardrobe unexpectedly malfunctioned and broke in the middle of judging a contestant during the American Idol’s Monday night episode.

The 39-year-old singer was wearing a sculpted silver top, which malfunctioned just before Top 14 Roman Collins performed It's A Man's Man's Man's World by James Brown.

The American Idol panelist took to Instagram on Monday, April 15, and shared a behind-the-scenes video after the show.

In the video, Katy Perry’s broken top is being fixed by a group of crew members while she remains seated at the judging panel.

Katy captioned her post, “My top broke #idol.”

While giving a concerning look at the camera the Daisies singer said, “I need my top to stay on.”

“If it’s not fixed, this show is going to get more than it wanted,” Katy jokingly said.

Her fellow judge Luke Bryan then jumped in between to help by saying, “Hey, I got it!”

The video was followed by another clip from Monday night’s idol show when Katy had her wardrobe malfunction.

While wrapping her arms around her chest in the clip Katy said, “That song, uh, broke my top off!”

“I guess it is a woman’s world,” she added, playfully referring to Collins’s song rendition.

After the show ended, she told Access Hollywood, “I wouldn’t call it a malfunction, I’ll just call it an interesting moment on live television."

In February during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, Katy Perry announced that she is leaving American Idol after seven seasons as a judge.
