Ryan Reynolds is the co-owner of Wrexham who wants to take the team to the Premier League within the upcoming decade. But, its captain Ben Tozer has pointed out a key area for improvements: the training ground.
Amid a rare feat of success in promotion of the Red Dragons to League One, the British footballer urged for better infrastructure to continue winning wind.
“The big question is the infrastructure behind the club, in terms of the training ground,” he told TalkSport.
The 34-year-old continued, “That’s the one big thing that needs to be set in stone. It’s hard because also that doesn’t financially give you what you put into it so it’s going to cost a lot of money to put that in place."
Adding, “But those guys are geniuses, they’ll figure it out. they’ll find a way to make it all work out.”
The matter was under the consideration of the Deadpool star and his partner Rob McElhenney at the time of the team's takeover by the pair in 2021.
Not to mention, Ryan recently opened up about the challenges of having a permanent training facility due to bureaucracy red tape.
"We need a training ground badly," he told on Yours, Mine, Away Podcast. "There’s a bunch of different options we’re looking at but yeah it is huge, not just huge for the club but huge for everybody."
"We want it to be something that is experienced by everyone who lives in Wrexham as well so there’s a lot of careful planning going into it.
Lamenting these hurdles, he said, "It’s the same where I grew up in Canada, there’s a lot of bureaucracy, it's not just as easy as saying let's build this thing or grow this thing you have to get 800 permits before you're allowed to."
