American entrepreneur and the founder of Neuralink Elon Musk has expressed his opinion about the legal troubles faced by the former US president Donald Trump as he has been locked in trial for weeks amid his reelection bid for the White House against Joe Biden.
Donald Trump arrived in court Tuesday as his trial entered the second day with the selection of a jury for the hush money case.
The 77-year-old is facing 34 counts of felony as he was indicted for the first time last year in March for falsifying business records to pay hush money to an adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.
Trump was indicted four times and his other three included retaining classified documents after leaving the Oval Office in 2021, instigating supporters to storm Capitol Hill, and interfering in the Georgia election which he lost to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020.
Elon Musk responded to a video on April 15 released by former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy in support of Trump’s legal troubles.
The tech magnate wrote on his X, former Twitter, regarding the hush money trial: "This case is obviously a corruption of the law. Lawfare."
The 52-year-old Musk and former president Trump had similar opinions about immigration policies and the integrity of American society.
Both met last month in Florida. The founder of SpaceX Musk told Don Lemon: "I was at a breakfast at a friend's place, and Donald Trump came by. That's it."
